1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send to the user's device, where they are stored before being transmitted back to the same sites on subsequent visits. Through cookies, the site "remembers" the user's actions and preferences (e.g. login, language, font size, other display settings) to make the experience smoother on the next visit.

2.1 Technical cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and cannot be disabled. They do not require user consent under Italian DPA Provision of 10 June 2021.

2.4 Server-side tracking (cookieless)
In addition to browser-side cookies, the Website uses server-side tracking technologies that send conversion information (confirmed bookings) directly from our servers to advertising platforms via dedicated APIs (Meta Conversions API, Google Analytics 4 Measurement Protocol). This mechanism does not use cookies but is subject to the same user consent rules:
- Marketing consent granted: encrypted (SHA-256) guest contact data is transmitted for measurement, attribution and campaign optimisation purposes;
- Marketing consent not granted or absent (e.g. telephone bookings, OTAs): Meta's Limited Data Use is activated and identifiers are omitted in Google Analytics. The conversion is counted only in aggregate statistical form, without individual profiling or retargeting;
- Full opt-out: by writing to the Controller's privacy address, the guest can request complete exclusion from any tracking, even aggregated.

3. Retention periods
- Consent cookie: 12 months from setting
- Session cookies: deleted when the browser is closed
- Analytics cookies: 14 months
- Marketing cookies: 90 days
4. How to manage cookies
You can modify or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time. The Italian Data Protection Authority requires consent withdrawal to be as easy as granting it: for this reason we have set up a persistent and accessible mechanism.
- Via the website (recommended): click the "Manage cookie preferences" button always present at the bottom of every page on the Site (footer section): the consent banner will reopen, allowing you to accept, reject or customise the categories in the same way you set them the first time.
- Via your browser: most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or deleted from the privacy settings (see below). Warning: blocking technical cookies may compromise some functionality (e.g. choice persistence, access to restricted areas).
- For newsletter: each email contains an immediate unsubscribe link.
- For server-side tracking: total opt-out by writing to amministrazione@colleverde-urbino.it.
